Recycling Reminder
There’s money in that trash. The township was recently granted $6,196.00 for 440.2 tons of recycled materials in 2006. BUT WAIT, we could do better.
You must put your papers out on recycle days tied or taped with paper tape (but scotch will do), or bundled in a paper bag. Papers in plastic shopping bags or cardboard boxes will be disposed of as trash and not count toward our recycling efforts. Telephone books, magazines and junk mail can be bundled separately for ease in handling. We understand the extra effort this takes, but it is the trash collector’s policy, not ours.
Also, even if you only recycle the easy to rinse bottles and cans it all adds up. It’s not all or nothing. Every little bit helps. For more information, pick up a recycle post card at the township office or download it from our website at www.uppermtbethel.org.
The township is looking into more recycling efforts and welcomes your ideas and participation. Why throw money away?
